MAXCOAT D-81 Bonded Lubricant

Maxcoat D-81 bonded lubricant is a dispersion of boundary lubricating solids and thermosetting resins. The solids of controlled particle size extend endurance life and have a low coefficient of friction, as low as 0.02 after break-in. The selected resins provide chemical resistance, excellent adhesion and high temperature stability. Maxcoat D-81 provides the following advantages over liquid lubricants:

- Performs under extremely high loads, up to 300,000 psi

- Performs at low speeds

- Handles extreme surface temperatures (300F - 900F)

- Handles dirty, abrasive, or wet environments

- Optimal for mating surfaces in sealed assemblies that are inaccessible to re-lubrication

- Excellent for wear-in of new or rebuilt equipment

- Applications that require corrosion resistance

USES FOR MAXCOAT D-81

Linkages, gears, pistons, valves, actuating screws and nuts, keys, impeller shafts and couplings

Maxcoat D-81 has excellent resistance to both fuels and lubricants enabling it to withstand prolonged exposure to these fluids in the period before sale and run-in of new equipment. It is useful for such parts and equipment as disc clutches, gears, centrifugal pumps, piston and ring-type pumps components of control valves, oil coolers, dehydrators, and bearing/shaft assemblies. It prevents sticking, chattering, galling, seizing, overheating and other difficulties common to new equipment.

Some items such as hinge pins and flexible control cables require lubrication for the lifetime of the part. The lubricant must be capable of supporting extreme loads, give maximum reliability over a wide temperature range, and withstand exposure to dust and the elements. Maxcoat D-81 provides such lubrication for instruments, servo-mechanisms, speed reducers and similar equipment. It is used alone in come applications, or on parts where the primary lubrication is provided by an oil bath.

Maxcoat D-81 bonded lubricant is effective for lubricating disconnects, splines, threaded connections and similar parts to control seizing, galling and fretting. It lubricates efficiently over a wide temperature range.

Unlike liquid lubricants, Maxcoat D-81 does not attract or hold abrasive dust and dirt, providing effective lubrication even in dusty, dirty conditions.
